Long gone are the days we have to settle,
Voluminous hair is now within our reach! There are a number of things you can do to help give your hair that glamorous boost. Ladies, for those of you who have hit a brick wall with your thin lifeless locks, relax. These seven easy tips could give you the irresistible, voluminous hair you’ve always dreamt of. Our experts recommend you try a couple, or all of these things (depending on how much time you’ve got!). Are you ready…
A root perm will give lift to flat hair. A body perm will give you all around waves, so your hair will have instantly more body and volume. Sadly perms are often very damaging, and you should stay clear if you’ve had previous chemical treatments. Additionally, make sure you go to a good stylist, perms can work great but they can equally leave you looking like a poodle. So take the time to find the right salon and of course think about your other options first. A perm is a hassle free, sure fire way to get volume, however it is a last resort. There are plenty of less drastic alternatives to consider (see below).
Ladies this is a general hair tip for all of you, don’t wash your hair every day. For the days you don’t wash use a dry shampoo, it works great on greasy hair, provides volume and it really, really works.
We’ve even put together a couple of our top recommendations for you:
3rd Time’s a Charm
One of our experts has given us a great pro trick to share, blow dry upside down. It may take some practice, but you will definitely see results as this lifts the roots and adds volume. Also use mousse and blow dry the crown area to get lift from fine hair. Try lifting your hair section by section and aim towards the scalp. It’s also important to avoid heavy conditioners, sprays, and styling products that might weigh your hair down.
The Cut Four You
The right cut can make a massive difference, so it’s important you know what to go for. Bobs will always give a thicker look, and they’re huge at the moment! Avoid heavily layered cuts, styles cut with a blunt end will give a more voluminous look.
Colour it. Simple. This doesn’t mean changing your hair colour, necessarily (although darker colours do tend to work better). Any hair colouring can make your hair look thicker. And highlights and lowlights when applied properly can provide fabulous dimension.
Fix Number Six
Well this should be fairly obvious, Volume Shampoo and Volume Conditioner! This should really be your first stop in the pursuit of voluminous hair. We stock a wide range of fabulous hair care for voluminous hair, and we’ve put together our top three recommendations for you. These will all leave your hair fluffier and fuller, see what works for you.
Lucky number Seven
Cheat! That’s right, extensions and weaves can work as a fabulous addition to your locks leaving your hair thick and volumous. But do your research there are a lot of horror stories about bad extensions and weaves. Remember the best extensions are the ones that look natural, more Cheryl Cole less Chloe Mafia.
